Valentine Eleebana
Cricket Club (VECC) was formed in 2001 by a number of motivated parents
with one specific goal “to provide a local club for children from the
Valentine Eleebana and surrounding areas to develop their cricket
skills, keep fit and develop socially within a sporting body”.
From the humble
beginnings of 2001 where two under 12 teams took the field in the
2001/02 season VECC has grown to be one of the largest and fastest
developing clubs in the Newcastle Junior Cricket Association (NJCA).
In 2007/08 the VECC
entered 12 teams in the NJCA representing over 110 junior players
playing within the club. Add to this a further 50 Milo (under 7 years
representatives) and four senior teams from A to D grade in the
Newcastle City & Suburban Competition (C&S).
The future is very
encouraging for all people both the current and the newly involved with
the club.
