In late 2007 the VECC
committee realised to survive and grow in the Newcastle cricket
community it would have to expand and develop. Priorities were discussed
and three main areas were outlined. These areas were.
q
A
commitment to build further training facilities within the Valentine
Eleebana area: These
facilities had to be available for all players and people within the
community. The club has now built through fundraising and generous
internal donation three practice nets at the Croudace Bay Sporting
Complex.
q
A
new cricket pitch and further practice facilities for its future stars:
In collaboration with the Department of Sport & Recreation, the
Valentine Public School and the VECC a new junior pitch was built in
2006. Further plans to renovate the Valentine Public School nets have no
been completed ensuring a home for Milo stars and players up to 10 years
of age at VECC.
q
A
New clubhouse: The VECC seen
this as an essential part of the clubs future structure.
Please visit the Valentine Eleebana Website at
www.vecc.com.au for further club information.

CAN YOU HELP VECC
BOTH NOW & FOR THE FUTURE?
Yes you can, the VECC
is calling on corporate sponsors to assist with the building of the new
clubhouse. In 2006 an estimation of $30,000 was required to build a
facility to house our junior and senior player’s hence the name target
30, this figure has now risen to close to $40.000 in less than 18
months. Each year this project remains incomplete the cost of building
rises. To show its commitment to the project the VECC players, parents
and friends raised almost $10,000 towards the project through hard work
and fundraising in 2006/07.
The club is
looking for the following to complete the project
q
Cash donations from
companies, corporations and generous people in the community.
q
Building products including
bricks, concrete, doors, security items and much more.
q
Skilled assistance to build
the project. Although the club has a plan for the facility it requires a
draftsperson, bricklayers, roofers and concreters to join our motivated
parents and volunteers within the club.
Any cash or item
donation no matter how big or small would be very appreciated.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR
COORPORATIONS OR BUSINESS?
Basically a chance to
help, to be part of a family club and a future sporting organisation
that will continue to grow in the local community. Also a chance to see
your generous donation develop from the ground up. Once completed, it
will form the central part of the club and its junior sporting
development. Corporate donations will be recognised and advertised
within the club. Personal donations will be placed on a register for all
people to see.
