Friday night games comes to Valentine Eleebana Cricket Club in 2008

The VECC is proud to announce this season we will be running in addition to regular weekend games a Friday night competition.
This competition will be open to all players how are registered with the VECC and their parents or grandparents, Unfortunately other siblings if they are
not registered with VECC will be unable to play.

The Competition

The 16 over competition will be played on a Friday night commencing late October. Play will start at 6.00pm and conclude around 7.30pm.
On the evening a BBQ will be available and it is hoped that players, friends and supporters will come to these games and cheer on the teams
whilst at the same time having a drink and enjoying a BBQ. This will be a great opportunity to take the family out for dinner
all under $10.00.

Each team will be asked to provide 8 players on the night to fill the team. Nominations for teams are open now so get in quick and nominate a team.
Teams cannot be stacked with senior or skilled teenage players. In fact it is a perfect opportunity to build a team around a number of players throughout the
club. For example a couple of super 8's, one under 12, one senior ect. The objective of the competition is to get together and have fun.

As previously mentioned parents and grandparents are more than welcome to play, the club will provide equipment all you have to do is show up.
The cost for the team is $16.00 a game to cover ball costs, the rest is free.

Rules

Each player including the wicketkeeper must bowl 2 overs from no more than a 6 pace run up.
If a senior is playing they can only hit one six per over they bat.
Players must retire after 4 overs at the crease.
Every six hit by a junior is worth a bonus 2 points
All runs hit by juniors each over count, if a senior is batting the first six per over counts,
Consequent sixes or boundaries hit will only attract one run
The aim of the game is all players (especially juniors) to play the key role in the competition.

Points

3 points to the winning team
1 point to the loosing team
2 points if the match is drawn

Bonus points

2 bonus points if a team manages to score over 100 runs in an innings
2 bonus points if a junior (13 years or under) scores over 20 runs

Awards

This is a round robin competition played between up to 8 teams of 8 players. The two top teams at the completion of the competition will play off for the
ultimate prize "the VECC super 8 club champion".

There will also be an additional award for the team with the most original name

So where to now.

Get together with your family and friends, nominate a team and wait for the draw. If there are players out there who are unable to be placed in a team contact the
club and we will do it for you. It is all in the name of fun

The Friday night Super 8 will be great, bring it on.
