at the Valentine Eleebana Cricket Club
Twenty two girls ages ranging from 8-13
undertook the six week program. The VECC appointed Elliot Best as Crick
Hit Coordinator
supported by Debbie Potts his assistant.
The VECC has always had a strong commitment to girls cricket and the
development of female players.
Throughout the years the VECC has fielded a number of girls in various
teams but it has never been able
to field a girls team in the Newcastle Junior Cricket Association thisi
s despite a number of attempts to do this.
In 2007 the VECC commited itself to applying and starting a girls
program in the Valentine Eleebana area.
With strong support from Cricket NSW the club was successful in starting
a Crick Hit program at the club in October 2007.
